Higher Than My Stairway
Music Video for the song HIGHER THAN MY STAIRWAY from the album THE ANCHOR AND THE DREAM (released on label: Curling Legs 2010). This track is the reason for shooting the footage in Ireland, there is definitely a “Celtic connection” here. The lyrics are inspired by a dream Elin Synnøve had, about gaining perspective and wanting to see more. Location: Connemara area (West coast of Ireland). Co-actor: Seamus Hughes, Styling: Cårejånni Enderud, Filming: Nils-Petter Lotherington, Cut: Erland Edenholm, Sound: Giert Clausen
Poetry
Music video for the track POETRY from the album THE ANCHOR AND THE DREAM (released on label: Curling Legs 2010). The video was filmed “in the spur of the moment” while shooting footage for a different music video (which can explain our leisure-like outfits:). It started raining, and we kept driving around waiting for the rain to stop when photographer Astrid Lunke spotted this lovely bluebell-field in the opening of a forest. The stylist (Cårejånni Enderud) and cameraman were not happy about the rain, though, but we gave it a try – which you can see the result of here… This place is near one of the national parks in the Connemara area (west coast of Ireland). Filming: Nils-Petter Lotherington, Cut: Erland Edenholm, Sound: Giert Clausen
This Is Not The End
Video for the song THIS IS NOT THE END from the album by Elin Synnøve Bråthen THE ANCHOR AND THE DREAM (released on label: Curling Legs 2010). The video was filmed “on instinct” upon our return journey – after three magical days on the green Isle. We were spending the last afternoon in Dublin when producer Øystein Sevåg suggested shooting one more video on one of the old bridges over River Liffey. We chose THIS IS NOT THE END because its quiet and slow character stands in great contrast to the busy afternoon rush. The video was shot in one take. Styling: Cårejånni Enderud, Filming: Nils-Petter Lotherington, Cut: Erland Edenholm, Sound: Giert Clausen
Shivas Blow In Cages
This poprock song delivered by Elin Synnøve Bråthen and her band (Hilmar Kristoffersen: keys, Glenn Phillip Nilsen: bass, Haldor Røyne: guitar, Trygve Tambs-Lyche: drums) is included on the appraised album THE ANCHOR AND THE DREAM, released 8 March 2010 (label: Curling Legs / distributor: Musikkoperatørene), one of the “surprise tracks” with its grunchy rock sound. Music & Lyrics: Elin Synnøve Bråthen. The video was filmed on location in Ireland (outside Galway) just before darkness fell on the first day of shooting footage for this album. The video for this track is not included on the album, whereas the other 3 videos are all put on the album as bonus material.
Filmed by Nils Petter Lotherington, cut by Erland Edenholm, sound and finish by Giert Clausen, photography: Astrid Lunke, styling of Elin: Cårejånni Enderud (the pants are actually sowed straight onto the body…). Enjoy it!
